BREEDING FACILITIES

An innovative rearing system

Located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in East Hereford, Quebec, La Ferme Piscicole des Bobines has adopted a rearing system that was inspired by the most environmentally efficient techniques available.

Our Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS system) uses over 90% recirculated water, which optimizes production, without affecting existing water resources. Less than 10% of the water used comes directly from groundwater.

All of the water used gets treated by rotating drum filters. These filters collect the fish-secreted sediments, which are then processed using a system specifically designed for this purpose. This way, the company ensures the lowest possible environmental impact and rigorous compliance with all regulations.

High-Quality
Spring Water

La Ferme Piscicole des Bobines uses high-quality spring water from groundwater that is safe from external contamination. What's more, its cool, constant temperature throughout the year helps the fish to thrive in an environment that is comparable to their natural habitat.

This allows us to offer the trout exceptional rearing conditions, thereby avoiding the need to use chemical products.
